The Position:

Reporting to the Manager, Software Engineering, the lead cognitive software engineer will be responsible for the architecture, design, development, integration and test of mission software systems, particularly for cognitive and adaptive control software. S/he will perform system-level design activities, including requirements allocation, interface definition, system and subsystem integration, technical risk assessments, technical planning, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses of total systems throughout the system lifecycle. Additionally, s/he will lead and mentor multi-disciplined engineering teams in the development and delivery of technical offerings; this team will be implementing mature engineering processes in line with current technology best practices, including agile software development.

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to work effectively in a team environment, and possess excellent organizational, communications, and presentation skills; we are seeking a highly motivated self-starter to help grow our business. S/he must also possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering; A Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline is highly desired.

  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Additionally it is required that the incumbent possess subject matter experience in the following areas/technologies:

  • Matlab, C and C

  • Algorithm development

  • Distributed agents

  • Genetic algorithms

  • Scheduler and inference engines

  • Control theory

  • Bayesian theory

  • Optimization in stochastic conditions

  • ELINT/EW Receiver and Direction Finding subsystems

Preferred Engineering Experience:

  • CMMI 3/5 processes and procedures

  • Digital Signal Processing

  • Production SW development skills
