We are seeking a Lead Chemistry Technologist to join our team in New Mexico!
-Lead will have either MT(ASCP OR AMT) OR MLS(ASCP)CM OR MLT(ASCP OR AMT)
-Required:5 years hospital experience
Preferred 1 to 2 years section lead experience can be included in the 5 years
Must be experienced in all areas of lab to include: chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, serology, blood bank, and limited micro.
This will include: antibody identification, gram staining, body fluids, abnormal diffs, kit testing in micro and serology
Job requires: training new staff, SOP writing and updating, QC Review and QA reports, CAP linearity, PT. Ordering reagents, sequestering of quality control. Maintaining new lots of QC in LIS. Validating new tests as needed. Answering questions, communicating with staff and physicians. CAP preparedness of chemistry section. If needed, participate in CAP inspections off site. This is not all inclusive other responsibilities as needed.
Being able to handle the physical requirements standing long periods of time, bending, being on knees, lifting. Normal range of hearing, being able to speak on the phone to staff and providers, pass a color blindness test, normal range of vision, corrective lenses acceptable. Fine motor skills, eye hand coordination.
Work primarily day light hours starting at 6 am to 8 am. Working 8 hours shifts. It does include holiday and weekend shift assignments. The weekend shifts start at 6 am and are 12 hour shift there is one other tech working the weekend in micro.
Will handle calls from techs for chemistry issues.
