The Lead Cardiac/Cardiovascular Sonographer supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality by assisting in the planning and coordination of cardiovascular imaging clinical operations to support the effective and efficient delivery of quality patient services. Under the supervision of the Cardiovascular Imaging Operations Manager, provides direct patient care performing a variety of Cardiopulmonary Laboratory procedures, including pediatric, vascular or advanced ultrasound structural heart procedures.
One year of adult echocardiography experience, preferably in a hospital facility and experience in at least one of the following: pediatric echocardiography, vascular ultrasound or advanced structural heart procedures; may consider a six month YRMC internship and six months of documented clinical experience in an accredited sonography program
Must be credentialed through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
Ability to obtain optimum diagnostic images and Doppler hemodynamic data
Ability to interpret basic EKGs
Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certified
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
Hospital facility experience
Previous leadership/supervisory experience
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred; Cerner strongly preferred
Must pass pre-employment screening
