GENERAL FUNCTION
The Lead Business Analyst directs others in defining, developing and delivering IT solutions through collaboration. Works with leaders to gather and prioritize client requirements. This role ensures projects meet objectives by increasing adoption and usage. The Lead BA develops processes, systems, and systems integration to overcome issues, drive delivery, and adoption. Will support the complete Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including: discovery, planning, requirements gathering, specification documentation, testing, training, implementation and support.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn business area processes and operating models; translate business needs into new applications, and perform high-level troubleshooting
Ability to convey and sell the recommended changes ultimately seeking alignment across business teams
Assist with developing project estimates, project plans and implementation schedules for assigned area in order to effect a broader variety of business solutions
Understand the IT strategic and tactical goals in order to focus functional team(s) on highest business impact by working through others to ensure tasks are adequately defined, planned and completed
Identify business requirements by responsibly collecting, analyzing, reviewing, documenting and communicating business needs to ensure the proposed solutions meet business requirements
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all phases of application implementation; keep IT management aware of issues and mitigation plans
Test system changes to ensure changes satisfy business requirements and are stable
Collaborate with stakeholder teams to identify user requirements and recommend solution options
Document work, including change requests and functional specifications, end user documentation, release notes, etc
Facilitate meetings, track and influence task progress. Track deliverables in order to effectively resolve customer and vendor issues
Supervise and coach other Business Analysts
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
7+ years Information Systems/Business-related experience
Strong critical thinking and ability to quickly learn new technologies and business processes
Change agent to influence business partners to look at processes from a different perspective
Proven experience with collecting and writing business requirements that exceed customer expectations
Experience working within a medical application that submits claims provider, product, subscriber/member, and network
Experience leading teams
Practical understanding integrating applications and technical services
Highly proficient and knowledgeable in MS Office applications; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior Facets application experience
Knowledge of emerging technology and platforms, ecosystems, hardware and trends that are in line with business needs
Experience utilizing requirements definition methodology, best practices and standards in healthcare/insurance industry that meet business need
Experience with test automation and performance testing tools
Experience with databases, ability to create, execute, and understand SQL queries
Experience with configuring and/or using SAP
Finance background or experience working on projects within area of finance
