Are you a detail-oriented individual seeking an exciting new role? If so, we are looking for an energetic accounting professional with analytical capabilities to join our Hybrid Business Finance team.

Deloitte is aggressively acquiring, developing and scaling alternative business models such as Intellectual Property-based ("IP-Based") businesses to complement the traditional services offerings across the core functions of consulting, advisory, tax and audit. IP-based businesses offer client's technology, content, data or analytic solutions with recurring subscription revenue business models. The combination of IP-based businesses with Deloitte's traditional service offerings are referred to as "Hybrids". The Hybrid Finance team is a relatively new team that owns the centralized transactional activity of Order to Cash and Record to Report processes across all alternative business models at Deloitte.

What You'll Do

As the Lead Billing & Revenue Operations, you will be responsible for execution and oversight of Billing responsibilities within the team, including maturing and implementing best practices across the group. The Lead will also support and work closely on new acquisitions (internally and externally) to ensure proper set up and migration to Hybrid Business Finance operations. This role will be responsible for executing Order to Billing responsibilities including Order Management, Billing and Revenue Recognition for all business in the Hybrid model, including defining and producing metrics relative to Billing to ensure measurement and performance of the team. The role will also be responsible for supporting the growth of the Hybrid Finance team and capabilities as Deloitte continues to invest in Hybrid Businesses. Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for billing of subscription, usage and one-time activities to include accurate and timely reporting of the Company's financials and timely close process.

  • Review and interpret terms and conditions of revenue contracts and be able to confirm validity and accuracy of associated billing as well as appropriate revenue recognition.

  • Ensure that information required for management reporting is collected/communicated effectively and that revenue accounting is appropriate, complete and accurate.

  • Ensure control points across Hybrid Finance are followed to enable revenue assurance and timely cash collections.

  • Seek opportunities and collaborate to develop best practices for the team to ensure scalability as new acquisitions, organic growth of existing business and addition of other Deloitte Hybrid businesses.

  • Participate in implementation and leverage new and existing technologies to deliver scalable processes and capabilities. This could include, but not be limited to; SAP, Salesforce.com, and other cloud-based SaaS platforms.

  • Collaborate to develop/refine processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvements and work closely with IT and key business owners to drive key system initiatives and improvements.

  • Support compliance via maintenance of accurate records of billing calculations, including contracts and modifications, invoice supporting documentation, email approvals, overpayments, invoice cancellations and related items.

  • Work closely with Accounts Receivable to resolve collections issues

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

  • Minimum of 4-7 years' experience handling billing, collections, order to cash, revenue recognition and monthly revenue close.

  • Ability to proactively detect and report risks and the ability to deliver on project deadlines.

  • Experience in understanding the dynamics/various business drivers of IP-based businesses.

  • Working knowledge of SAP, Zuora or other Flexible Consumption based billing system

  • Experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel Skills (Excel certification will be required post-hire)

  • Outstanding attention to details

  • Excellent Communication and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working in complex, multi stakeholder organizations

What's Nice to Have

  • A CPA or CPA candidate is a positive

  • Knowledge of MS AO Reporting or Tableau

  • Knowledge of SAP and / or Salesforce a plus

The Billing Team, along with other members of the Finance and Administration team, supports the financial management and administration of the dental school. This position reports directly to the Billing Manager and works closely with the clinics it supports: Faculty Practice, Craniofacial Pain and Sleep Center, Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Tufts Dental Facilities, Tufts Community Dental Program and Clinic Business Operations. Faculty Practice (FP) is a Multi-Specialty group dental practice that affords full-time faculty the opportunity to practice dentistry and oral surgery at TUSDM. FP consists of faculty members practicing, with the facilities provided by the University and those practicing in affiliated hospitals. The Craniofacial Pain Center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex painful disorders of the head and neck region. The mission of our Center is to provide a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, a concise and coordinated management plan in a holistic, integrated biomedical patient-focused manner. The Oral Medicine Clinic is dedicated to improving the quality of life in high risk and medically compromised populations by engaging in basic and translational research to promote general health through good oral health practices. Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology is a dentistry specialty that deals with the nature, identification, and management of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions. It is a science that investigates that causes, processes, and effects of these diseases. The practice of oral and maxillofacial pathology includes research, diagnosis of diseases using clinical, radiographic, microscopic, biochemical or other examinations and management of patients. Tufts Dental Facilities for Persons with Special Needs (TDF) is a network of seven outpatient clinics that provides dental care to approximately 7,000 developmentally disabled patients in the state of Massachusetts under the umbrella of TUSDM and in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Additional patient treatment is provided in the operating room setting at four affiliated hospitals within the state. The TDF program also provides a venue for teaching General Practice Residents through the Tufts GPR Program and 4th year dental students from TUSDM. Tufts Community Dental Program (TCDP) is a mobile program that provides dental services to children at schools across the state of Massachusetts that otherwise would not have access to dental care. Clinic Business Operations (CBO) supports the clinical and education efforts within the Pre-doctoral, Postgraduate and Specialty clinical treatment areas of the School and is responsible for all patient care services billing for these clinics, as well as supporting IRB clinical study patients and maintaining CITI certification. The Postgraduate Clinics (residents) are the Specialty Clinics, which includes: Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Pedodontics and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The Billing Administrator, in conjunction with the Billing Manager, oversees the Dental School Clinics' daily billing operations and is responsible for the overall management of all aspects of billing practices. This position has a direct impact to clinic revenue. The individual will be responsible for ensuring that all billing aspects are in compliance and processed timely and appropriately following all applicable dental/medical billing guidelines and implements changes as guidelines dictate. This includes identifying opportunities to reduce denials and enhance revenue. Responsible for managing the functions of accounts receivable, revenue collection, insurance billing, patient billing, payment posting and billing account adjustments. Additionally, the individual needs to have the ability to prioritize duties/tasks in a fast-paced environment with numerous competing deadlines. The Billing Administrator is the first-line resource for billing team questions and concerns and reports directly to the Billing Manager, supervising Billing Leads, Billing Coordinators, Billing Assistants, and any other billing support staff positions. Basic Requirements: * Bachelor's degree and finance or accounting experience and/or 5 – 7 years of experience and knowledge of dental/medical billing and familiarity with Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and Word; demonstrated knowledge of insurance and dental patient care systems. * Candidate must have 2 years' experience verifying, processing and troubleshooting insurance claims and/or analyzing patient or financial accounts. * Must have the ability to prioritize and meet concurrent deadlines. * The individual must have excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, innovation, leadership, accountability, creativity, delegation, engagement, empowerment and customer service skills. * Needs to exhibit: innovation; attention to detail; analytical intelligence; a self-starter; a leader and a team player; healthcare business or insurance knowledge; ability to effectively communicate technical information and have an aptitude and willingness to drive change. * Dental Coder Certification required with 6 months of employment. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree preferred. * Certified Dental Coder (CDC) applicant with 7 years of dental insurance coding/billing and revenue cycle management experience. * Knowledge of third-party billing: MassHealth and Medicare regulations and guidelines, as well as commercial dental insurance coding/billing practices. * Expert level with ADA codes, applicable CPT Codes and ICD-10 Codes. * Experience in a fast-paced dental/medical setting. * Exceptional attention to detail. * Knowledge axiUm/Dentrix software.
