Hourly base pay rate is $28.08 - $42.12/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. We are the leading provider of services for the life cycle management of batteries used in hybrid and electric vehicles. We are currently hiring a Lead Battery Maintenance Technician for our Las Vegas Service Center.
Job and Responsibilities:
This individual will work with Battery Maintenance management to forecast job requirements, ensure appropriate resource allocation and adjust schedules and availability accordingly.
The individual will model safety behaviors and ensure that their team is compliant with all health, safety and environment requirements.
The Lead Battery Maintenance Operator should be able to perform the following maintenance duties:
Disassembling batteries and battery packs.
Utilizing test equipment to evaluate battery performance and identify performance issues.
Replacing defective parts and fusing parts as required to make active.
Ensuring battery fluids are properly mixed and contained.
Sorting materials.
Providing minor diagnostic work to determine the root cause of non-working batteries.
Assisting with the repair and refurbishment of vehicle batteries for redeployment.
Follows all safety and related procedures.
Assists with special projects as assigned.
Assembles, installs, inspects, maintains and repairs batteries within assigned vehicle groups and types.
Utilize electrical test equipment to confirm batteries are in good working condition after installation.
Removes and dissembles cells and inspects parts to identify defects.
Replaces defective parts, reassembles batteries and fuses parts as required.
Fills cells with acid solution and determines solution gravity.
Performs all duties described for Technician II, plus other duties as described below:
Performs preventive maintenance on batteries, charging equipment and other equipment / components based on manufacturer guidelines.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses battery handling equipment and charger components.
Ensures proper recording and maintenance of required battery specifications, testing results, charging activity and related information.
Logs time and materials, work orders and inventory.
Primary Responsibilities:
Addresses and resolves issues escalated from technicians and/or customers.
Monitors workflow processes and develops / recommends areas for improvement.
Identifies and resolves systemic issues within the team.
Handles issues escalated from Battery Maintenance team members, customers and other stakeholders.
Serves as a key liaison with Vehicle Operations teams and leaders, ensuring Machine Shop support for required batteries, parts and service operations.
Finds and recommends ways to improve the team's efficiency, quality and operational effectiveness.
Maintain familiarity with battery maintenance concepts, methods and practices.
Reads meters and adjusts charge parameters to control time and flow of current through battery.
Performs discharge tests, evaluates results and makes necessary repairs.
Provides technical coaching and mentoring for Battery Maintenance team members.
Alerts team lead and/or management about difficult issues, patterns and trends.
Serves as lead and master-level Battery Maintenance Technician.
