The lead auditor at Cooper Tire & Rubber Company directs and manages operational and financial audits at our world headquarters and/or field locations. This position will plan audits, assist with coordinating audit teams, and establish standards and procedures for the inspection and appraisal of financial and operational processes and controls.
This role typically requires a thorough knowledge of the organization's audit systems, as well as experience in audit practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors responsible audit engagements, ensuring proper coverage and appreciation of auditing principles and practice.
Reviews audit documentation and reviews and/or prepares reports for audit director and senior management.
Provides organizational awareness and technical expertise in sensitive or complex engagements.
Responds appropriately to management queries in relation to the internal controls and risk management
Communicates and provides training in risk management and assurance within the organization.
Interprets regulations in order to devise the most effective implementation.
Where necessary, carries out investigations of alleged financial mismanagement, loss of assets or other irregularities.
Serve as the project leader on standard and large-scale audits, the senior member of large-scale audits or conduct complex audits independently.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
MBA or Master's Degree in Accounting preferred
One of the following certifications preferred: CPA, CIA, CISA, CMA,
Typically will have 7 or more years of Accounting/Finance or related technical experience.
May have work experience in 2 to 3 other functional areas including: Accounting, Finance, Operations, Audit, Treasury and/or Tax
Capable knowledge of SAP
Capable in ACL or other analytic tools
Advanced of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Capable knowledge of Hyperion
