Summary

The Lead Associate, AmeriCorp Senior Program is responsible for leading and providing oversight of the Kentucky Foster Grandparent Program, a senior volunteer program centered around early education. The role includes program development, federal grant compliance and management, volunteer recruitment and training, promotional activities, recognition events, staff supervision and collaboration with community agencies.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

  • Federal Grant Management (30%)

  • Under the supervision of the State Director, this person will be responsible for the implementation of the Foster Grandparent program, ensuring high quality program delivery that meet or exceed program targets.

  • Assist in the development and preparation of the grant renewal application

  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports as required to evaluate programmatic progress

  • Negotiate, review and update Memoranda of Understanding with volunteer stations to establish guidelines for volunteer placements

  • Prepare annual program budget, monitor revenues and expenditures to maintain fiscal control

  • Maintain records and documentation per federal grant requirements

  • Program Implementation (50%)

  • Provide primary staff support and technical assistance to senior volunteers to carry out programmatic activities.

  • Represent the program in communities through presentations, affiliations, participation in meetings and conferences to increase viability of the program and recruit volunteers.

  • Review and submit monthly timesheets for stipend, travel and meal payments to volunteers

  • Recruit, screen, place and supervise Foster Grandparents to ensure successful and productive volunteer assignments.

  • Provide 40 hours of volunteer orientation of which 20 hours must be pre-service, and an average of 4 hours of monthly in-service training.

  • Coordinate with program teams to ensure alignment between elementary school programs and volunteer support

  • Staff Supervision (20%)

  • Train, develop, coach, lead, and supervise staff, clearly communicating organization, division and department priorities, and how their work contributes to our mission, ensuring that the working environment continually fosters diversity, inclusion, and belonging - supporting Save the Children values

  • Provide regular feedback on performance and work expectations

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience

  • Program or project management experience

  • Training development and delivery experience

  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite

  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Federal grant management

  • Supervisory or technical support experience

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $66,300 - $74,100 base salary

  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $60,350 - $67,450 base salary

  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $54,400 - $60,800 base salary

The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program.
