The Asset Information Analyst is responsible for working with the Asset Manager and other Project Teams to coordinate, assess and optimize resources during project life cycles. Provide Maximo expertise as it relates to utilizing the system, data integrity and providing support and training in the Region. The Analyst maintains working functional knowledge of business needs and practices for the Utility Operations major processes, and conducts complex analyses using appropriate process improvement methodologies that further organizational and strategic goals, identifying and analysing current-state processes and issues, and support process integration throughout NYPA's Asset Management System.
Responsible for overall program progress tracking and reporting. For any projects are falling behind, identify the cause, propose solutions, and serve as an enabler to work through the bottlenecks with the project teams.
Cultivate and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and communicate clearly with project teams, and redirect those who deviate from the strategy back onto the right track. Work collaboratively with stakeholder groups to analyse their business requirements and ensure alignment with overall objectives.
Support the spread of Asset Management culture at an enterprise-wide level and promote continuous improvement opportunities.
Help close gaps identified within the Asset Information Strategy Document by supporting the Asset Information roadmap.
Ensure data quality and integrity.
Enforce corporate asset information standards user requirements from corporate IT systems.
Manage the definition and implementation of improved data processes.
Manage work performed by NYPA staff and contractors to verify quality and adherence to schedule.
Oversee and prioritize work, providing direction, mentoring members of staff, and development of staff work performance goals with Director Asset Information.
Lead software contractors on Maximo upgrade implementation business process and assist with / provide recommendations regarding goals and objectives for meeting implementation requirements.
Identifying opportunities for improvements in Utility Operations.
Analyze/audit existing business processes to identify improvement opportunities or gaps where new processes/controls are needed.
Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, prioritize and execute projects, and balance business needs vs. technical constraints.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of Maximo, OSI Pi, GE's APM and Asset Answers.
Ability to lead objective analyses and business processes mapping and requirements analysis to maximize quality service and cost-effectiveness.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and engagement in continuous learning.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Ability to prioritize and plan work with respect to project schedules, and deliver results in a timely manner.
Excellent planning, organization and presentation skills in order to communicate to all audience levels.
Excellent written and oral communication essential to ascertain present and future business needs.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT or related field required.
Master's degree preferred.
7 years minimum related utility experience preferred. 5 years of related experience.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools and Maximo, Data Splice, APM, Osi Pi and Asset Answers preferred.
Significant travel expected (25% - 45% depending upon responsibilities), primarily within NY State to NYPA owned facilities by car, company plane and commercial transportation.
