About the Role

Total Wine & More is looking for a Lead Architect, E-Commerce to join our Digital Architect team in Boca Raton, FL or Bethesda, MD. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing robust e-commerce solutions to drive our online business. You will work closely with our Engineers, Product Owners, and other Architects to create scalable, secure, and high-performance e-commerce architectures. You will play a key role in ensuring our platform not only meets current industry standards but also anticipates future trends and technologies. You will report to the Lead Principal Architect, Digtal.

You will

  • Design and develop scalable and secure e-commerce architecture that integrates seamlessly with our existing systems.

  • Ensure compliance with security best practices.

  • Lead large-scale projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and deliverables.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams and project plans.

  • Stay abreast of new technologies and e-commerce trends, incorporating them into our strategy to enhance performance and user experience.

  • Capable of swiftly developing prototypes to showcase the business value of emerging technologies or technical methodologies.

  • Mentor junior team members and lead by example with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.

  • Participate in the re-platforming of our current e-commerce/OMS, ensuring careful consideration for business continuity.

You will come with

  • 15+ years of experience in the field of e-commerce technology.

  • In-depth knowledge of WAF, CDN, security best practices, PCI audits and compliance, and payment gateway integration.

  • Extensive programming experience, with a preference for proficiency in Golang, Java, Node.js, and ReactJS.

  • Experience with event-driven technologies such as Kafka.

  • Proven track record of leading large projects as an architect, with excellent project management skills.

  • Strong documentation skills, with experience creating detailed architecture diagrams.

  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.

  • A passion for technology, a great work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes.
