Lead Accountant - Wholesale Acct

Job Summary:

The Fuel Exchange Lead Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations related to fuel exchanges, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role demands a meticulous professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of fuel trading and exchange processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting Management:

• Oversee and manage all accounting activities related to fuel exchanges, including transaction recording, reconciliation, and reporting.

• Ensure timely and accurate recording of all fuel exchange transactions

• Compliance and Auditing:

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

• Coordinate and manage internal and external audits related to fuel exchanges.

• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.

• Analysis and Reporting:

• Conduct detailed financial analysis of fuel exchange transactions to support decision-making.

• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management.

• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends in fuel exchange operations.

• Collaboration and Communication:

• Liaise with trading, operations, and logistics teams to ensure accurate and timely flow of information.

• Act as the primary point of contact for any accounting inquiries related to fuel exchanges.

• Collaborate with IT to enhance and maintain accounting systems (SAP, Right Angle) and tools.

• Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of fuel exchange accounting.

• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the accounting function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Revenue recognition.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

• The Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience

• The Senior Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience

• The Lead Accountant/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

Working Conditions:

• Usually, normal office working conditions.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

• Occasional overnight travel may be required.
