The LDA Maintenance Mechanic

  • Appliances primary focus is the technical repair and preventative maintenance of appliances inventory including washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

Repair to proper operational status the non-working appliances located with the Housing inventory; provide routine preventative maintenance to existing appliance inventory; perform general maintenance tasks within the Housing building inventory; and perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair appliances including washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, etc.

  • Knowledge of appliance electronic control systems.

  • Knowledge of various appliance manufacturer's products and specifications.

  • Skilled in general maintenance tasks including electrical and plumbing.

A Limited Duration Appointment (LDA) is a form of regular employment for a specific project or for a limited period. An LDA may be established for up to one year with an option to renew the appointment annually for a maximum of three years.

Minimum Qualifications:Typically requires a high school diploma and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:Vocational or technical training; 3-5 years of appliance repair experience some experience and aptitude in general maintenance; ability to tear down and rebuild appliances to restore to working order; and valid driver's license.

Duties and Responsibilities Prepare surfaces prior to painting; hand brushes, roll paints, or spray paints buildings, areas, equipment, furniture, and other surfaces; determine type and kind of materials needed, time allowance between coats and number of coats required, and adequacy of surface preparation and areas to be painted; apply primer, sealer, and undercoats to office interiors; apply finishes and/or protective coats to walls and ceilings; thin materials to proper consistency and mix and match paints to surface being painted; rig scaffolding; and may perform other general maintenance work as requested.
