Job Summary:

Functions as Equipment Leader for the UT-ID Area business. Responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of the equipment fulfillment team in its goal of operational excellence, support of overall strategic objectives, and accountable for overall project financial results. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or equivalent; or five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned.

Leadership and Supervisory

  • This role is a player coach role in which project management and estimating are part of the duties and responsibilities.

  • Lead performance by coaching direct and in-direct reports on required skill sets, talents, and capabilities. Accomplished through monthly 1:1 coaching sessions, facilitating annual performance goal deployment, performance review, career and professional development conversations.

  • Manages associate performance for effectiveness and efficiency in relation to customer service and stream profitability.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance and development reviews; addressing issues and resolving problems.

  • Works in conjunction with Regional Equipment Solutions Manager to direct and support estimation and bid co-ordination activities related to the equipment business.

  • Contributes to area and regional leadership meetings, employee engagement initiatives, purple team activities, and ongoing Lean activities including X-matrix, A3, and Area CMA management.

  • Carries out management/leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, leadership principles and applicable laws.

Customers

  • Regularly meets with other business functions and customers to ensure proper execution of projects and orders.

  • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and staff as needed, to include strategic customer visits.

General Responsibilities

o Ensures that quality standards are maintained, after an order is closed, for equipment installation process and functions required for execution and customer satisfaction, including new equipment, start-up and warranty service, and controls equipment.

o Overall equipment installation responsibility for the following functions within the categories of new equipment, start-up and warranty service, and controls equipment: order validation, order entry, order follow up, customer inquiry, submittals, service coordination, building automation coordination, project management, technical support, claims, and resource allocations.

o Responsible for inter-departmental process/communications flow relative to the fulfillment process. Includes developing and upholding standard work.

o Facilitating and assisting with MDI/MWI (Managing for Daily Improvement or Weekly) Issues and working with the plants if required. Includes all Lean processes/events (RIE, VSA, etc.)

o Support and with limited approval (per LOA) of Process gap charge back/margin erosion (Concessions, Warranty, Underages) and Vendor Purchase orders.

o Responsible for keeping abreast of Trane and vendor products, including logistics and technical support.

o Assist Regional Equipment Solutions Manager in developing the tactical initiatives for the Annual Operating Plan related to Equipment Fulfillment Objectives.

  • Provides technical support after an order is closed, for equipment installation process and functions required for execution and customer satisfaction, including new equipment, start-up and warranty service, and controls equipment.

  • Responsible for estimating, submittals, and working with project managers as required to provide technical support.

  • Monitor, measure, and modify process and process measurements to effectively and efficiently meet customer needs.

  • Interacts with sales to provide submittals and throughout the fulfillment process.

  • Responsible for keeping abreast of Trane products, product design, and requirements for installation as well as working knowledge of HVAC principles.

  • Reviews project measurements and monitors projects through warranty periods.

  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.

Financial Responsibility

  • Responsible for managing/monitoring key metrics:

  • Committed Backlog

  • Job Set Up

  • WIP

  • Aged Variation

  • Buy/Sell Margins

  • Final Finisher Reporting

  • Concessions/Claims

  • Monitors and supports Accounts Receivable in managing aged invoices or invoice disputes.

  • Ensures timely processing of rebates and other financial incentives.

Base Compensation Range: $78,000 - $160,000 annually. This role offers an incentive plan

  • Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, experience, geographic location where the work is performed, etc.

This role has been designated as Remote within a Geography.  While most work can be done remotely, there are geographical travel and time-zone considerations. Shared touch-down workspace available on-site.
