The PA Liquor Control Board is seeking a highly motivated and specialized candidate with investigative experience for the Bureau of Licensing. This position is assigned to the Bureau of Licensing, Licensing Investigative Division. The incumbent will conduct regulatory reviews within an assigned geographic area to determine applicant compliance with the Liquor Code and related laws and regulations when applying for a new license, a license renewal, reconciliation of requested change to licensed status, or transfer of ownership of a licensed establishment. If this investigative type of work interests you, apply today.You will assist persons making application to the Board by answering procedural questions and reviewing application and support documents for completeness prior to preparing and transmitting the investigation report to Central Office for evaluation. You will consult with various governmental agencies to ascertain any local regulatory requirements, such as zoning restrictions, determining applicant's compliance with same. You will research property deeds to verify ownership of property containing a premises licensed or to be licensed, frequently requiring travel to a county office of public records. You will also evaluate lease or sales agreements to ascertain the continuity of property ownership/occupation.
You will inspect and report the characteristics of the neighborhood of the establishment to be licensed, with particular interest in describing the proximity of other entities with standing to protest the issuance of a license, such as other licensed establishments, schools, playgrounds, and churches/places of worship.
In this position, you will examine and verify the information contained in the business records of partnerships, corporations, or non-profit clubs, such as partnership agreements, articles of incorporation or club charter, stock certificates, club or corporate minutes, and membership rules, bylaws, and dues requirements.

4:30 pm, Monday
Friday, 30-minute lunch period
