Layout Inspector

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Program CMM machine

• Layout parts using CMM machine.

• Do dimensional studies using CMM machine.

Education and/or Experience:

• Degree in a technical field and/or equivalent experience.

Requirements

• Coordinate incoming inspection work to ensure customer-timing needs are met.

• Familiar with IATF16949 requirements

• PPAP, SPC, Advanced GD&T, Blueprint reading, Strong math skills (trigonometry) required.

• Interpret engineering drawings in order to perform requested inspections.

• Must have experience in programming and operating CMM equipment.

• Must have good people skills.

• Must have the ability to work within a team environment.

• Strong computer skills.

• Perform dimensional layout inspections using the proper equipment (CMM, height gauges, micrometers, vernier calipers, optical comparator, dial indicators, and hardness tester).

• Strong communication skills (both written and oral).

• Perform all inspection equipment calibrations.

• Make necessary arrangements when external calibrations are required.

• Keep proper records of calibration.

• Maintain a professional appearance of the test facility.

• Enforce and conduct good housekeeping.
