Position Summary

  • Laundry Workers perform a variety of tasks on varying shifts, including collecting and sorting soiled linen, loading and unloading machines, and folding clean linen.

  • Operates computer-operated washers and dryers.

  • Responsibilities include counting and recording the linen processed each day, making proper deliveries to units and, cleaning and sanitizing the work area including; machines, work tables and sorting area.

  • Performs laundry activities within well established guidelines to ensure that quality standards, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.

  • Delivers personal clothing to the appropriate resident.

  • The overwhelming majority of the laundry worker's job is performed while standing, walking and bending.

  • The laundry worker is responsible for satisfactory and timely completion of assigned linen, etc. according to schedule.

  • Reports equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion.

  • Is responsible for the safe and proper use of detergents and adheres to all safety precautions.

  • Work involves pulling and pushing, carrying weight up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending and reaching from floor to waist height and from waist to chest level.

  • Represents HCSG in a positive manner; is able to follow oral and written instructions, is pleasant, tactful and courteous and cooperative with supervisor, co-workers, residents and client staff.

  • The laundry worker consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Experience preferred, but on-site training is provided.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Must be able to be at work on time.

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English as to be understood effectively by another individual.

  • Ability to recognize hazards and follow appropriate protective equipment measures, read and understand MSDS sheets, and communicate with coworkers as to such.

  • Personal cleanliness.

  • Pleasant, tactful, courteous.

  • Must be able to fully understand and complete all In-Services.

  • Must be able to be at work on time.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.

Special Information: Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is hiring for two seasonal less than 6 month positions. One for the Northwest District covering Les Mason, Logan, Thompson Chain of Lakes, Thompson Falls and Whitefish Lake State Parks. The other for the Lone Pine District covering Lone Pine, Flathead Lake West Shore Unit, and Lake Mary Ronan State Parks. Working conditions: 1.Frequently works in adverse outdoor conditions including temperature extremes, snow and rain, windy/dusty conditions, and biting insects. 2. May work irregular hours or split shifts including evenings, weekends and legal holidays. 3.Works with and applies hazardous chemicals including pesticides, solvents, paints and fuels. 4.Work locations may include roads and highway right-of-ways in close proximity to high-speed, heavy vehicular traffic. 5.May be required to work overtime hours, including weekends and legal holidays. Physical demands: May perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, including digging, lifting, pounding and carrying. Work is often very labor intensive and requires good physical condition. Selected candidate for Lone Pine District must be able to weekly hike Lone Pine trails for the purposes of trail inspections and maintenance. The selected applicant can expect to carry loads of 50 lbs over uneven terrain. Applicant must have a valid driver's license. Applicants must be certified in CPR and First Aid, training will be provided. Job Duration: Late April through mid to late September Shift: 4-10 hour day-time shifts per week. Work days will be Tuesday thru Friday or Friday thru Monday. Identity of applicants who become finalists may be released to the public if the Department deems it necessary. Benefits include retirement, paid vacation, sick and holidays. This position may be covered by a VEBA (Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association). Job Duties: These positions will primarily work day shifts, but may require work in the evenings, weekends, and Holidays during the peak season. Holidays worked include Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day. The applicants selected will have a wide variety of duties to support the park managers in all aspects of park operations. The focus of these positions is groundskeeping, and facilities and equipment maintenance. The successful applicants must be able to work as part of team with the park managers, game wardens, park rangers, AmeriCorps members, volunteer staff, and Montanan Conservation Corps. Most times the person in this role will work independently performing tasks and must adhere to safety standards. These positions also require a great deal of public contact and must be able communicate effectively to answer questions and educate concerning park regulations. NW District: The position will work under the direct supervision of the Northwest District Manager. It is a seasonal position that will assist with routine and preventive maintenance on parks equipment, facilities, and groundskeeping in Les Mason, Logan, Thompson Chain of Lakes, Thompson Falls and Whitefish Lake State Parks. This includes cleaning pit toilets, landscaping, moving lawns, weed whipping trails and around park facilities, trash removal, and clearing traffic areas of debris. The selected applicant must also be able to perform skilled and semiskilled carpentry and mechanical repairs and maintenance, such as construction and installation of sign posts and boundary signs, and painting/staining signage or picnic tables. The position must be able to work independently while performing these tasks and must adhere to the Department's safety standards. Lone Pine District: The primary function of this position is maintenance for three state parks; Lone Pine, Flathead Lake West Shore Unit, and Lake Mary Ronan. This includes cleaning pit toilets, landscaping, moving lawns, weed whipping trails and around park facilities, trash removal, and clearing traffic areas of debris. The selected applicant must also be able to perform skilled and semiskilled carpentry and mechanical repairs and maintenance. Construction and installation of sign posts and boundary signs. Painting/staining signage or picnic tables. Applicants work area and work product must be neat and clean. Additional tasks can include fee collection, deposit money, assisting with interpretive programs, assisting with the reservation program, and staffing the welcome center at Lone Pine or fee booth at Flathead Lake (West Shore unit). Requires knowledge of the methods and practices of general maintenance and construction work related to equipment, buildings, grounds, campgrounds, and public recreational facilities. Use and care of hand and power tools including mowers, weed whips, chain saw, drills and grinders and other equipment commonly associated with grounds maintenance and basic carpentry; operation of a variety of motorized equipment such as tractor, backhoe, bobcat, brush-hog, hydraulic tamper, hydraulic auger, power washer, weed sprayers, and 1-ton dump truck. Basic computer skills for data entry and access to Microsoft Word & Excel. Must be able to communicate effectively with the public, providing accurate information about Park facilities, regulations, camping fees, and recreational opportunities. Must obtain and maintain weed control training at an appropriate level in coordination with Maintenance Supervisor. Education and Experience: The above knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and one or more years of general experience in maintenance, construction, agriculture, natural resource management, and technical fields.
