Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) typically services long term care and nursing facilities and is now hiring a Laundry Worker in your area! HCSG has a custom, state of the art training program!

Position Summary

  • Laundry Workers perform a variety of tasks on varying shifts, including collecting and sorting soiled linen, loading and unloading machines, and folding clean linen.

  • Operates computer-operated washers and dryers.

  • Responsibilities include counting and recording the linen processed each day, making proper deliveries to units and, cleaning and sanitizing the work area including; machines, work tables and sorting area.

  • Performs laundry activities within well established guidelines to ensure that quality standards, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.

  • Delivers personal clothing to the appropriate resident.

  • The overwhelming majority of the laundry worker's job is performed while standing, walking and bending.

  • The laundry worker is responsible for satisfactory and timely completion of assigned linen, etc. according to schedule.

  • Reports equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion.

  • Is responsible for the safe and proper use of detergents and adheres to all safety precautions.

  • Work involves pulling and pushing, carrying weight up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending and reaching from floor to waist height and from waist to chest level.

  • Represents HCSG in a positive manner; is able to follow oral and written instructions, is pleasant, tactful and courteous and cooperative with supervisor, co-workers, residents and client staff.

  • The laundry worker consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Experience preferred, but on-site training is provided.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Must be able to be at work on time.

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English as to be understood effectively by another individual.

  • Ability to recognize hazards and follow appropriate protective equipment measures, read and understand MSDS sheets, and communicate with coworkers as to such.

  • Personal cleanliness.

  • Pleasant, tactful, courteous.

  • Must be able to fully understand and complete all In-Services.

  • Must be able to be at work on time.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.

The HSCS is a hub of excellence for forensic mental health and complex psychiatric care, with all facilities accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospitals provide state-of-the-art treatment that is recovery-oriented and science-based. Whether in a direct-care or support role, your contribution will make a difference in the life of a Texan. Social Worker II provides advanced clinical and Social Work services to patients on an adult and or child/adolescent inpatient units. Provides social services which include formulating Social Assessments, Educational Needs Assessments, case coordination, treatment planning, continuity of care planning, education and training; and individual, group, and family therapy. Works as a member of a multidisciplinary team and serves as a liaison between El Paso Psychiatric Center, the community Mental Health Authority (MHA) or alternate provider, the court system, the patient, the family, and the LAR. Serves as case coordinator for assigned patients and patients with LAR's. Maintains regular contact with MHA's for continuity of care planning. Works under the general supervision of the Social Services Director with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Completion of work requires occasional origination of new methods and or techniques and decisions are based on broad principles and guidelines. May supervise interns. Essential Job Functions: Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. 1. Independently completes Social Assessments on patient admissions or transfer that meet regulatory requirements and reflect an understanding of population specific and age-related social factors affecting patient treatment needs. 2. Independently provides discharge planning that meets regulatory guidelines and reflects understanding of population specific/age appropriate continuing care needs as well as community resources. 3. Identifies , recommends, and provides for assigned patient and family education needs including competency training for forensic patients. 4. Serves as Case Coordinator for assigned patients on all adult units and all patients with an assigned LAR in accordance with standards. 5. Participates in Treatment planning by providing discipline-specific treatment recommendations and interventions including competency training. 6. Provides clinical treatment services to include individual, group, and/or family therapy for patients and families. 7. Functions as an effective team member and serves as liaison between EPPC, the multidisciplinary team, the community MHA or alternate provider, the court system, the patient, the family, and LAR's. 8. Monitors and assists with coordinating the civil and forensic commitment process for each assigned patient to the treatment team, the EPPC court Liaison office and the appropriate court system. 9. Seeks and maintains professional knowledge, skills, and competence for the provision of Social Work Services for all patients. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Knowledge Skills Abilities: 1. Knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, and practices of social work; of the functioning of social service or treatment facility; of community resources; of mental illness and emotional component of physical illness; of rehabilitation methods; of case work principles; and of the functioning of mental hospitals, out-patient mental health clinics, and/or schools for persons with disabilities. 2. Experience working with Civil and Criminal Court system. Registration or Licensure Requirements: Currently licensed by the Texas Professional Social Worker Examiners as a Social Worker or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPCI) Initial Selection Criteria: 1. Required, Master's degree from an accredited school in the field of Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or related field. 2. Required Licensed through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors or the State Board of Social Workers.
