Laundry Attendent - Full Time

Hotel Laundry Attendant

The Comfort Inn & Suites in Castleton, NY is looking for a Laundry Attendant to join its team. This position would be for weekend/weekday, total hours 30-40 hours/week. Weekends are a must. Laundry attendant will be reporting to the Housekeeping Manager and General Manager.

Laundry Attendant ensures hotel qualities are met and hotel linens are cleaned and stored in a timely, organized manner according to policies and procedures. Job requirements include high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read and understand directions on equipment and supplies. Physical requirements include standing, walking, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, and bending. Occasionally may need to lift 30+ lbs. (with help) if needed.

Prior Hotel Laundry experience preferred but not required.

The essential job functions include, but are NOT limited to the following:

• Report to work in a clean uniform with nametag at scheduled time

• Prepare all linen and towels for washing and ensure adequate loading of machines

• Operate washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturer guidelines.

• Be familiar with safety procedures, the operation of all machinery and equipment, and measure use of all necessary chemicals for wash cycles

• Separate all linen watching for any valuables or obstacles

• Separate stained linen for special treatment - should be able to easily see stained linen

• Folds clean linens and stores as appropriate.

• Ensure all linen is dried properly

• Stack and store linen on shelves as directed

• Assists in daily linen counts for monthly inventories.

• Ensure all machines are blown down and clear lint traps daily

• Keep Management informed of any problems in the laundry operation,

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry room and surrounding areas

• Perform any additional assignments as directed by Management. Need to be willing to cross train in other housekeeping departments

• Complies with energy conservation and job safety regulations.
