Position Summary

The Laundry Aide performs day to day laundry services ensuring patients' laundry needs are met in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred

  • Prior health care experience preferred

Specific Job Requirements

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

  • Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility

  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department

  • Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation

  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information

  • Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures

  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to perform day to day laundry functions including: collecting, sorting, ironing, folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing

  • Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients

  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of patients

  • Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance

  • Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment

  • Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

This includes updating the renewal book, calling on late payment and/or sending letters of late payments, turning in claims to companies, and making current changes to policies. Office Support Activities * Answer phone calls and greet walk-in customers * Barcode scanning for Personal and Commercial Lines * Work with producers to compile list of weekly referrals and Customer of the Month Renewal Book * Update the billing screens on the policies that haven't automatically renewed * Follow up with companies that haven't renewed the policies * Work with other CSRs with any difficulties with any companies regarding renewals * Identify price increases and work with producer to contact customers. Endorsements * Make changes in Applies Systems and in the company screens on changes to current policies, which include adding, deleting, increasing or changing items on policies. * Follow up with the customer with the changes to the premium if requested Claims * Receive claim information from insured's who call with claims and report the insured's claim to the insurance company. * Call back the claimant with the claim information * Develop a weekly claim list and work with producer to follow up with claimant Late Payments * Receive weekly reports from the Insurance companies on late payments * Call the clients whose bills are late * If the policy is cancelled, find options with the company on how to reinstate and offer different payment options. Cross-Sell Letters * Work with producer on generation 20 cross-sell letter per week. * Identify customers with cross-sell opportunities to develop monoline list. * Update list weekly with up-to-date information for most accurate letters * Update TAM policy screens with correct information Other duties assigned High school diploma or approved equivalent. Strong skills in math, keyboarding, 10-key, and filing. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet usage.
