Pay
This position is a Non-Exempt position at pay grade 103.
Attendance
Non-rotating 16-hour work week, Monday - Friday 2:30p-6:00p; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview
The Senior Group Leader assists with the development of the After-School Latchkey Program for children ranging in age from 5-13 years old, develops activity plans for age groups, identifies program supplies, and implements programs such as arts and crafts and healthy living activities. This position is responsible for providing leadership to others to ensure a safe and caring environment that promotes positive child development.
Responsibilities
Lead children 5 to 13 years of age and address any concerns expressed by the children. Continuously redirect children to limit any possible disciplinary issues
Prepare afterschool program daily for children by ensuring the site meets safety regulations set by DFPS
Prepare and assist with daily reports such as incident reports, discipline referrals, request supplies for activities
Receive and issue receipts for monthly tuition as needed. Prepare revenue deposits and deliver to financial institution as needed
Plan and execute daily activities for Latchkey site
Assist with planning and implementation of special events
Instruct and lead children in both indoor and outdoor recreational games and activities
Ensure that there is constant communication with custodial and administrative staff at the school when issues arise
Communicate daily with parents and guardians while providing excellent customer service
Continually maintain communication with Area Manager about any issues with children or parents
May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requires a High School Diploma/GED
Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of experience
Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification prior to job assignment
A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
Closing Statement
Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
