Job Description:

Lake Area Technical College is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Campus Life Director to lead and enhance the overall student experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a vibrant and supportive campus environment that fosters student engagement, personal growth, and academic success. This position involves overseeing student activities, student voice, athletic and intramural programs, and other student support services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, implement, and assess a wide range of extracurricular activities, events, camps and programs that promote student involvement and community.

Oversee the planning and execution of campus-wide events and camps, including cultural, recreational, social, and educational activities.

Work with student leaders, staff, and faculty to plan, organize, promote, supervise, and evaluate Campus Life programs, events, and activities to meet the needs of students.

Create and support leadership development opportunities for students, including workshops, retreats, and mentorship programs.

Advise student voice and other student organizations.

Coordinate services and resources to support student well-being, including counseling, health services, and peer support initiatives.

Work closely with program departments to ensure comprehensive support for students.

Coordinate the use of City of Watertown facilities and other off-campus facility use.

Develop and manage the Campus Life budget, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.

Maintain accurate records and reports related to student activities and services.

Conduct regular assessments of Campus Life programs and services to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Oversee the Student Activities and Event Coordinator.

Oversee all aspects of athletic and intramural programs associated with the school, including hiring coaches, ordering equipment, marketing events, budgeting, and more.

Monitor attendance and academic progress of all athletes and coordinate with programs to verify student-athlete eligibility.

Assist coaches and administrators with coordinating athletic/intramural game schedules.

Coordinate and maintain inventory for all activities and support the needs and implementation of all school athletic/intramural events.

Assume head coaching responsibilities in the event of unfilled coaching vacancies.

Oversee the recruitment of students and student athletes in coordination with the Admissions Office.

Schedule must be flexible due to the requirements of student activities.

The position may require weekend and evening hours with coordination of the Student Activities and Event Coordinator.

Campus activities must be attended during daytime, evening, weekdays, and weekends.

The candidate may have instructional responsibilities that vary from semester to semester, including teaching courses, leading workshops, and developing educational materials.

REPORTS TO: Dean of Student Services, Vice President

QUALIFICATIONS:

AAS degree or degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a higher education setting.

Knowledge of NJCAA, Clay Target USA, rules and regulations governing recruitment, player eligibility, and related functions a plus.

Proven track record of successful managerial experience, including providing effective feedback.

Strong ability to start, lead and organize various programs and initiatives.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

Ability to work collaboratively with groups of students, faculty, and staff.

Proficiency in managing budgets and program assessment.

Ability to supervise staff and establish positive working relationships with students, professionals, staff, and the public.

Ability to effectively plan, organize, implement, and evaluate programs.

Ability to address policy violations appropriately and interact effectively with students.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

Salary Range -$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 / Per Year

Shift Type

  • Full-Time

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve month contract with salary and benefits set by the Watertown School Board. Hours, which will vary by season, set by Lake Area Technical College.
