JOB SUMMARY:

Assembles tests and integrates laser systems according to customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Works in conjunction with the production team

• Assembles products using drawings and work instructions

• Tests laser systems and power supplies on existing products and new potential products

• Troubleshoots laser systems and supports customer service and engineering on occasion

• Uses/integrates oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power meters and other testing equipment

• Maintains company inventory and quality control using manufacturing software and meets production schedule deadlines

• Performs peer review and final inspection on laser systems

• Follows safety protocol and supports laser quality control testing

• Support BOM review and other departments as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be US citizen or green card holder.

• Associate's degree or higher in Physics, Engineering, related technology or equivalent experience

• Fundamental understanding of optical components including polarizer's, waveplates, pockel cells, lenses and mirrors

• 3 years experience in a related field and hands on experience with lamp pumped or diode pumped lasers required

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical, optical and electrical specifications using drawings and manuals

• Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal generators and power meters is required

• Knowledge of software applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point to produce reports and graphs is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Position requires that the person have good close-up vision (color vision, depth perception and ability to focus), mental concentration and dexterity to be able to handle and identify small components.

• This position may require standing for more than four hours at a time.

• Limited lifting of 50 lbs or less is required
