Stellar Science is a growing Albuquerque-based scientific software development company seeking talented software developers to create and extend exciting scientific and engineering analysis applications. We develop custom software products and perform research and development in domains that include: computer vision and image processing, image simulation, high power microwave systems modeling and simulation, computational electromagnetics (CEM), monitoring the health and status of on-orbit satellites, high performance computing (HPC), computer aided design (CAD) tools for building spacecraft models and laser system modeling and simulation.
Work with the Advanced Laser Modeling & Simulation Software Development Team developing and integrating new and legacy laser modeling tools into a cohesive, multi-platform framework, with an intuitive and efficient user interface.
B.S. in computer science, physics, math, engineering, or a related field
Substantial software development experience
Familiarity with state of the art laser modeling and simulation techniques
Ability to implement, understand, and maintain mathematical and scientific codes
Object-oriented design and programming in C++ or Java
U.S. citizen willing to undergo background investigation and perform some work at Kirtland Air Force Base
M.S. or Ph.D. in computer science or a scientific or engineering field with substantial software development experience
Majoring or experience in a computational science/engineering field
Experience in any of the following is a plus:
Laser source, propagation and target effects modeling
Cross-platform software development on Linux and Windows
Supercomputing, CUDA, OpenMP, MPI, threads
Optimization and uncertainty quantification
3D graphics using Open Scene Graph and/or OpenGL
User interface development with Qt, Java Swing, or GWT
Image processing, imagery analysis, or computer vision
Computer aided design (CAD)
