What you'll do:

  • Ensure that all employees are attending the weekly tailgate meeting

  • Confirm that all employees are operating safely at all times including reviewing potential traffic hazards; performing hard hat checks and safety gear checks; underground alert reviews; other trades hazard review and performing general public safety checks

  • Maintain a hazardous communication folder including all relevant forms for chemicals used on the job site

  • Report reckless or dangerous activities to job Superintendent; notify Safety Office of any accidents and submitting accident reports according to Company policy Requirements

  • Use hand and/or power tools or equipment to perform a wide range of landscape and irrigation duties:

  • Laying sod

  • Planting

  • Watering

  • Fertilizing

  • Digging

  • Installing sprinklers

Additionally, employees are expected to abide by all internal control & compliance practices to:

  • Safeguard assets from theft and misuse

  • Ensure segregation of duties to minimize fraud

  • Comply with business ethics, applicable laws and regulation

  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information

  • Periodically reconcile physical assets to accounting records

Skills we're seeking:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience

  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards

  • Able to lead and direct crew of 2 to 4 people

  • Practice workplace safety

  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

  • Use hand equipment with mechanized moving blades such as gas powered shears

  • Use manual hand tools such as shovels

  • Work from elevated heights such as an 8' A-frame ladder

  • Use a hand shovel for extended period

  • Moves soil, equipment, and materials, digs holes, and plant trees, shrubs and flowers.

  • 6 months commercial landscape experience preferred but not required

  • Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic

  • Work near or about natural bodies of water

  • Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required)

  • Ability to work in extreme conditions temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time

  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)

  • Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)

  • Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day

(FNI) is currently searching for a highly-motivated, well-rounded Landscape Architect to join the Urban Planning and Design Group in our Dallas office. This position requires a detailed-oriented landscape architect who works with a project team to serve our clients on a variety of landscape architectural projects including parks and trails planning and design, urban design, streetscape design, and roadway landscape design. Candidate must be well-organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate should have 2-4 years' experience in a large landscape architectural or multi-disciplinary firm working with municipalities. Working closely with an outstanding group of landscape architects and multi-discipline team members, the candidate will work in a collaborative environment to assist on projects. Primary Responsibilities: * Work in a collaborative environment as part of a multi-discipline team. * Perform work on all phases of various landscape architectural projects including master planning, schematic design, design development, and construction drawings. * Perform research of city ordinances as they pertain to projects. * Research of construction materials to determine appropriate selection for each project. * Assist in the planning and coordination required to administer projects from the initial programming stages all the way through to construction administration. * Manage personal timeliness and technical correctness of a project to ensure high-quality work that fits within a client's budget and expectations. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 1. A bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture is required. 2. Minimum of 2-4 years of Landscape Architectural work experience. 3. Landscape Architectural registration is not required, but candidate should be pursuing licensure. 4. Strong AutoCAD skills. Civil 3D is a plus. 5. Microstation skills are a plus. 6. Knowledge of GIS Mapping is beneficial. 7. Experience preparing professional graphic exhibits using 3D computer modeling programs such as Sketchup and Lumion. 8. Strong Adobe Photoshop and InDesign graphic skills. 9. Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills. 10. Strong writing, verbal communication skills. 11.
