POSITION SUMMARY: The Landscape Foreman assists the Landscape Supervisor in ensuring that the appearance of our Club exceeds the Members' expectation and that the grounds and course are immaculate and that both areas are ready when needed for all events and activities by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Works closely with the landscape laborers to ensure the highest level of work is being performed daily.
Assists in the continual training of proper landscape techniques to new and existing staff.
Waters plant material in landscape beds and ornate pots.
Has a strong knowledge of identifying plant and flower material by name.
Has a basic knowledge of identifying plant disease and water deficiencies.
Properly and safely operates any piece of machinery and completes safety checklists as required. Returns all equipment clean and performs any required service prior to storage.
Reports any problems or damage with equipment to the Landscape Supervisor, Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.
Checks oil and gas levels before driving or using any machinery. Knows the proper type of gas/oil mixture or gas/diesel fuel specification that each machine requires.
Secures and hitches transport machinery properly and always drives at a safe speed.
Holds a basic understanding of irrigation systems and parts including timers, valves, heads, pipe and can troubleshoot.
Performs routine irrigation checks by using remotes and clock timers.
Adds or relocates heads, adjusts valves, changes nozzles and runs basic irrigation piping for new zones.
Adjusts digital clock timers including adding/subtracting run times, days to water and taking zones on and offline on a 30-zone system.
Learns growing conditions and adjusts irrigation rates with the help of the Landscape Supervisor to ensure optimal plant/turf growing performance.
Greets Members with a smile and uses their name if possible.
Advises the Landscape Supervisor immediately if a problem or complaint is brought to his/her attention by a Member. Assures the Member that their issue will be brought to management and will be handled accordingly.
Dresses in an approved uniform at all times, including a hat and name tag.
Other duties as assigned by the General Manager, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent or Landscape Supervisor.
Valid Florida pesticide license
Valid driver's license
Must be able to properly operate a golf cart
Minimum of 2 years work experience as a Landscape Laborer
Spray experience is preferred
