Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience OR BA/BS Degree in agriculture, natural
resources, agronomy or related field of study

Professional Degree in Landscape Architecture and/or related degree and/or
professional
experience in equivalence. Experience with computer software programs for
professional
writing, design, visualization, and geographic information systems.
Applicant must have a valid driver?s license and a good driving record.
Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point
Sketchup; AutoCad
Duties:

Individual is to perform all phases of recreation site planning and design;
mid-level and forest level recreation planning; sustainable-built environment
planning; accessibility inventory and design; and scenery management, including
visual impact assessment and visualization, inventory and monitoring, and
monitoring. Position responsibilities are described below and percentages may
vary with respect to individual unit needs.

Site Planning and Design: Site inventory, site analysis. Conceptual and
master plans. Opportunities and constrains analysis. Construction drawings and
specifications. Built environment image guide and design narrative development.
Cost estimates and bid projects. Sustainable design. 75%
Recreation Planning: Recreation Opportunity Spectrum inventory, monitoring
and establishing objectives. Recreation niche and distinctive roles and
contribution analysis and updates. Recreation facility analysis and recreation
composite mapping, or mid-level recreation planning. 10%
Accessibility: Developed recreation site inventory condition assessment;
utilization of the Forest Service Accessibility Database; development of
conceptual designs and construction drawings for accessible designs and
retrofits; drafting of accessibility transition plans; assistance with
developing and drafting essential eligibility requirements and other
programmatic ways to address accessibility. 10%
Scenery Management: Inventory; landscape (scenic) character descriptions,
scenic quality, visibility and monitoring. Establishing objectives; scenic
classes, constituent analysis, scenic integrity and scenic stability. Project
Level Planning and Analysis; affected environment, visual impact assessment, key
observation points, visualizations, environmental consequences. Monitoring;
photographic documentation, baseline assessments, trends analysis, regional
comparisons, project level, forest, and broad-scale monitoring. 5%

Other:
Informal training is available on the latest direction for Forest Service
policy with regards to accessibility, recreation planning, scenery management
and forest planning.
Overnight travel: 1-2 days per month
Health and Safety Considerations: No formal training necessary. Review of
Job Hazard Analysis for the activity at the field location, if applicable.
Required Safety Gear: If required, specific safety gear will be coordinated
at the local unit in which work is to occur and will be commensurate with
appropriate Job Hazard Analysis.
Safety Gear Use: If applicable, use and provision of safety equipment will
be coordinated with the safety officer at the local unit in which work is to
occur.
Physical requirements: The applicant must be able to maneuver and operate in
a mixture of office and field work under a variety of environmental conditions.
This can include navigating on rough, uneven ground. Reasonable accommodations
