Position Summary:

As a Landscape Architect you will create landscapes, plan, and design for Home Builder. You will collaborate with other professionals on a wide range of project from parks, entry features, clubhouses, housing and industrial complexes, and large-scale residential communities. You will use GIS, CAD and other design applications to create aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sounds plans. The ideal candidate must be creative and resourceful to fulfill company needs and be highly skilled in presenting proposed plans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and prepare site plans, specifications for sales centers, amenity centers, entry features, etc.

  • Research applicable local codes for parking, site plan, and open space requirements etc.

  • Use AutoCAD and SketchUp to develop graphic representation of project. Respond to internal feedback and revisions as needed.

  • Develop vendor relationships to achieve pricing goals.

  • Convert concept drawings into design development plans for cost analysis, and select materials based on directives, budget and climate parameters.

  • Meet with management, construction, engineers, and landscapers to explain project goals.

  • Conduct on-site inspections to assure adherence to final plan.

  • Research and analyze environmental reports on land conditions.

  • Other related duties as requested by management.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture required.

  • Active Florida Landscape Architect License required.

  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience.

Experience and Skills:

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be creative and resourceful to fulfill company landscape design needs within budget and climate parameters.

  • Must be flexible and be able to change priorities and manage several design projects and deadlines at once.

  • Strong working knowledge of permitting and regulations.

  • Ability to analyze environmental reports and provide recommendations on conservation and sustainability.

  • Extensive knowledge of plant material, horticulture principles, irrigation design.

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient with computer aided design and drafting:

  • AutoCAD Civil Desktop

  • LandFX Landscape Design Software

  • SketchUp

  • Excellent Time Management skills

  • Good Presentation Skills.

  • Software Knowledge requirements: MS Office, Word, Excel, Teams

  • Familiarity with GIS
