Job Summary
Under general supervision is responsible for the operation and maintenance of landfill gas collection systems throughout North and South Carolina.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Properly operate and maintain gas collection system on a timely and cost effective basis in order to achieve minimum performance standards
Monthly Wellfield Monitoring
Liquid Level Measurements in Gas Extraction Wells
Pneumatic Pump Cleaning / Maintenance
Wellfield Maintenance
Daily Preventative Maintenance / HDPE Pipe Welding
Routine Blower / Flare Operations
Condensate Management System Maintenance
Monitor perimeter probes
Surface Emissions Monitoring
Participate in Health and Safety regular meetings and ensure that Health and Safety standards are followed by on-site staff and sub-contractors
Develop and maintain operating records using written or computer/electronic methods
Reports/consults with supervisor (and in some instances client) regarding field conditions and test results
Qualifications
A valid drivers license with a good driving record is required
Mechanical - Technical Aptitude with at least 1 year of experience in mechanical or construction-related fields required
2-4 years of Landfill experience preferred
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Basic Computer Skills
Effective organizational as well as written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Health and Safety Oriented work
Entry level familiarity with technical instrumentation and equipment
Meet physical requirements for driving (pick-up truck), walking inspection of improved and unimproved property, lifting and carrying equipment/mechanical components (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), hand excavation/digging (using shovels/picks), carrying and climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, operating electric tools (drills, saws, etc.), using hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.) and providing services under varying weather conditions

Provide advice in product/process validation and verification strategies. You will also be relied on to provide technical direction in process and equipment evaluation. Troubleshoot issues with processes and provide key leadership in development of new processes. You need excellent communications skills, the ability to work effectively in a team environment and ability to make sound problem assessments. This position also requires working with other disciplines to define, improve and optimize production processes. Develop new techniques to support and meet continuous improvement objectives. Create process instructions and provide training to operators. Conduct quality reviews and pre-job briefs. Lead safety reviews to improve workplace and job safety.
