Job Summary

The Land Analyst position provides support to Land and Land Administration and is responsible for processing requests to set up and maintain working interest and net revenue decimals, change operators and certain well statuses in Continental's system of record for well data. This position is also responsible for creating and distributing several reports on behalf of the Land Department, performs regular audits to confirm and maintain the integrity of Land data in company systems of record, assists with basic mapping and coordinates projects on behalf of Land as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Process requests to set up and maintain working interest and net revenue decimals, change operators and certain well statuses.

  • Troubleshoot system issues when errors with updates are encountered.

  • Compare and review ownership data provided by Land for accuracy and follow up with Land as required on discrepancies.

  • Perform weekly, semi-monthly and monthly audits to maintain data integrity.

  • Support in mapping of unmapped polygons.

  • Create reports as requested by Land, Accounting, Audit and Legal.

  • Assist with research, special projects and other duties as required.

Skills

  • Proficient computer skills with strong emphasis on Excel.

  • Solid understanding of Land agreements, processes and procedures.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.

  • Proven team player who can adapt quickly to the work flow and environment.

  • Flexible, thorough, and prompt in high-pressure situations.

  • Takes initiative and is innovative.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University.

  • 2 years of relevant Land experience with an active oil and gas exploration company.

  • Strong knowledge of Land applications, including Quorum and SAP with an eagerness to learn other internal applications quickly.

  • Ability to calculate working interest and net revenue interest.

  • Thorough understanding of land legal descriptions.

  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

VIEW JOBS 4/23/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-22T00:00 Responsibilities: * Perform a detailed interpretation and analysis of leases, agreements, title opinions, operating agreements, and other contracts and legal documents to prepare and setup record title ownership spreadsheets and decks * Work closely with appropriate Land personnel to gain approval of division of interest ownership in order to setup and maintain JIB and revenue decks. Gain approval of management * Work with various accounting personnel to notify of decks to use in accounting processes * Ensure timely payment of royalties in compliance with state statutes to avoid punitive interest penalties * Review, verify and accurately setup outside-operated oil and gas division orders. * Follow-up with operators and purchasers to ensure timely payment of proceeds from production of Company owned assets * Review title, request or investigate records for proper documentation and process all changes of interest ownership timely * Work as a clean-up analyst for revisions to division of interests managed initially by Senior D.O. staff * Facilitate request for changes to Revenue/JIB owner contact information. * Work in connection with Land group to cure title defects that affect division of interest ownership and suspense * Send required correspondence to owners to cure title and process return receipt of requirements. * Review and maintenance of suspense ledger by owner account. Assist other department personnel as needed to escheat owner accounts, as required by various state laws * Setup and maintenance of decks outside of well type cost centers * Various other projects or duties as assigned Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or similar discipline * At least 3+ years' experience in a Division Order Analyst position * Strong working knowledge of Division Order, legal and/or title experience preferred * Ability to ensure SOX compliancy with all tasks performed within the scope of division order related processes * Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team * Ability to effectively communicate information to (especially via email and phone) and work with all levels of the organization * Ability to suggest and implement process improvements to increase effectiveness * Excellent organizational and time management skills * Self-motivated, with ability to work with minimal instruction * Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Accounting Software (P2 Excalibur), Peloton systems (Wellview and Siteview), P2 Merrick (Carte), AFE Workflows (P2 AFE), and Accurint * The qualified candidate will * have strong attention to detail * be quick to pick up on new concepts * be flexible regarding workload and priorities * possess a positive, team-oriented attitude Diamondback Energy Oklahoma City OK
