Essential Functions
As a Lake Parks Assistant I, you will bring the fun to life by implementing the daily operations of seasonal day camps. You will have the opportunity to be the mastermind behind recreational programs and activities for school-age children this summer!
1.As assigned, assists in planning, organizing and leading various recreational programs, camps, activities, special events and projects associated with Lake Parks.
2.Coordinates with City departments, community organizations, volunteers and school districts regarding facility availability and scheduling.
3.Provides quality customer service at all times; greets public, answers telephone, provides information and registers participants.
4.Abides by City safety and health codes and ordinances.
5.Drives City vehicles as needed; may be required to transport program materials and people and for various errands.
6.May operate point of sale system.
7.May use cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops and brushes and cleaning supplies.
8.May prepare room/facility for reservation/program prior to event or program, cleans the room/facility at the end of reservation/program and prepare for next rental/program.
9.Completes various reports and submits them to the appropriate supervisor.
Ensures the safety of all visitors and participants in programs and facilities; ensures safety protocols are being adhered to.
Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate to the position.
Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others in the course of daily work.

Required Skills
Minimum age is 16
Ability to have a blast outdoors, even in high heat and humidity.
Physical ability to set up tables, chairs, and equipment needed for camps.
Leadership skills to coordinate staff and school-age children.
Flexibility to work various times, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Comfort with Windows-based computer systems (show us your tech-savvy side!).
Must have or obtain American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR, First Aid and AED certification before the first week of being placed on the work schedule All certification trainings are offered through the City of Grapevine
Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check. Positions with assignments that require handling money will be required to pass a credit check.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
