The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a modern, Joint Commission-accredited, 330-bed full-service hospital located in Idaho Falls. Idaho Falls offers a rich variety of outdoor activities with Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Jackson, WY and Sun Valley all within a short drive from our hospital.

PRN Defined: Work minimum of one shift per two week pay period to assist with staffing for coverage of absences for staff planned/unplanned and/or increase in census. The more you are available the more you can work if shifts are available.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Lactation Consultant develops and implements guidelines and standards of care for assisting breastfeeding and pumping mothers in all areas of the hospital where they might be served.

  • Develops, implements and maintains an ongoing education plan on breastfeeding for staff.

  • Educate staff on current evidenced-based techniques of breast feeding, latching and mother's milk production.

  • Preferred certification or have completed testing for certification by the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Examiners within 9 months of hire or transfer to department.

  • At least five years work experience in the Maternal/Child health arena.

  • Current RN license with the State of Idaho or compact state or ADA license or RD registery.

  • Masters degree preferred. Membership in professional associations of ILCA and USLCA preferred.

  • NRP and CPR for Healthcare Providers status is required.

  • The job requires excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and team building skills. Must have advanced computer skills. Initiative, creativity and flexibility are essential. Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism at all times.

The Medical Lab Scientist - ASCP organizes and performs the daily activities of his or her assigned sections. The section(s) may be Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Microbiology or Immunology. The MLS ensures that performing the daily activities and the validity of test results and quality control are completed for the specific section to which he/she is assigned. EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: * Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or related sciences including a practical training program. HHS/HEW must have appropriate years of experience. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: * Need to be certified or registry eligible, by providing documentation of certification within 3 months of hire, in one of the following: ASCP, NCA, AMT.
