Job Summary
Serves as a Laborer for the construction of landfill gas collection or other environmental pollution control systems. This position will start on a project in Winchester, Virginia and then after it is 100% travel nationwide.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to the Project Manager, Project Superintendent, Senior Field Technician, or Project Foreman.
May assist other Laborers, Equipment Operators, Foreman, or Superintendents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follows Codes of Safe Work Practices as outlined in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
Interacts with other SCS-FS personnel and/or subcontractors in a professional manner.
Assists project personnel with hand excavation/digging (using shovels or picks).
Follows equipment operator during excavations and pipe installations to clear earth, plants, and debris that heavy equipment cannot clear or remove
Assists in the fusion of pipe by operating fusion equipment under the supervision of a fusion technician. Clears area of debris and earth to settle equipment in preparation for fusing procedure.
Takes depth measurements in excavations and also assists in surveying excavations for installation of lateral and horizontal piping
Operates dump trucks used to haul off waste from excavations and drilling of gas wells.
Helps with the setup of drilling equipment, clearing area of debris and earth to settle equipment in preparation for drilling procedure. Carries and pours sacks of sand or other materials to settle installation of piping in drilled gas well hole.
Installs metal stakes and other retaining materials to hold piping on hillsides/slopes
Enters excavations to fuse pipe, install gas system piping, and install leachate or condensate piping.
Enters manholes, sumps, or other confined spaces to install new gas system or leachate/condensate system piping.
Repairs leachate and condensate lines by cutting piping and/or removing or draining leachate or condensate liquids.
Operates power saws and drills to connect and cut piping and wellheads, and to cut slots into new or existing gas system piping.
Applies glues and primer to gas and leachate system piping to repair or connect piping.
Carrying of or the use of ladders.
Operates pneumatic tools such as jack hammers and soil compactors to drive piping posts and compact soil cover material.
Remove, clean and install LFG gas system liquid pumps.
Replace or install sumps for gas system wellheads or leachate systems.
Operate vehicles to pick up parts and equipment.
Operates backhoe to remove soil or waste material and transfer to dump trucks.
Mows or cuts vegetation and grass around landfill wells and piping with mowing machine or weed eater.
6 months to 3 years' experience on the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems or pipeline construction required.
Ability to travel 100% nationwide.
Experience working outside and experience traveling for a job preferred.
Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing.
Must meet physical requirements for driving (pick-up truck), lifting and carrying equipment/mechanical components (up to 50 lbs. Unassisted), hand excavation/digging (using shovels/picks), carrying and climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, operating electronic tools (drills, saws, etc.), using hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.), and providing services under varying weather conditions required.

VIEW JOBS 10/12/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-10T00:00 The Extrusion Laborer performs manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials and assist in a variety of functions as needed. Laborer is responsible for supplying the reprocessing system with scrap plastic material. The Laborer is responsible for performing visual inspections of all scrap plastic material to ensure large contamination is removed prior to entering the system, such as wood, metal, cardboard, and other contaminates. This responsibility is critical in ensuring shredding equipment does not incur any unnecessary damages. The Laborer will operate a fork lift and load and unload materials for trucks and assist in day to day fork lift tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Support the reprocessing system by continuously inspecting and feeding scrap plastic material to the shredder * Produce consistent material throughput that meets quality standards * Stack used wooden skids in properly sorted 5S locations * Monitor shredder infeed conveyor belt and notify the Extrusion Operator of any feed blockages * Notify the Extrusion Operator of non-conforming scrap plastic material during inspection * Neatly stack non-conforming scrap plastic material on wooden skids for removal by the Operator * Communicate effectively with following shifts Extrusion Laborers regarding material non-conformances and other supply issues * Perform routine cleaning of the equipment to ensure reliability * Maintain the cleanliness of the work area during the shift and ensure conditions are optimal prior to shift change * Operate fork lift to load and unload material from trucks, move materials inside the facility, stage at and load materials into the shredder, and perform other fork lift duties as needed * Perform other assignments as directed by the Extrusion Operator Qualifications: * Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent * Must be able to lift 35 pounds and stand for extended periods of time * Must possess a good work ethic and work with minimal supervision of the Extrusion Operator * Must be able to follow processes and effectively communicate with peers and operators * Ability to pass forklift certification preferred Monoflo International Winchester VA
