The asphalt laborer position is a critical member of the paving team as we work to build better communities. Here are some of the things you will do:

FUNCTION: The Asphalt Entry Level Team member is responsible for performing general labor duties on construction or paving projects.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

• Visualizes and implements the Clyde Companies, Inc. vision and core values.

• Work with a safety mindset and strive to keep others safe.

• Rake and shovel asphalt.

• Operate a roller and plate compactor.

• Dump windrows from belly and double belly trucks.

• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.

• Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.

• Maintain a clean worksite and clean up job site at end of shift.

• Help prepare grades for paving.

• Help other team members lay out jobs.

• Clean, maintain, and keep track of hand tools.

• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of asphalt paving procedures or the ability to learn.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience with asphalt paving is a plus but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work long hours (10-14 hour days) in outside conditions

• Able to pick up and move at least 50 lbs.

Please note, this position is based in Cedar City, however, travel to surrounding areas (Washington County, etc) may be required depending on jobsite location.
