The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) is the largest academic unit at Rutgers University and the center of the undergraduate experience on the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus and is comprised of 41 academic departments spanning the liberal arts. Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Laboratory/Technical Assistant for the Department of Cell Biology and Neuro science within the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS).

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Performs PCR genotyping and managing the mouse colony, conducting real-time PCR, Western blot analyses, and flow cytometric analyses.

• Provides routine lab services and overseeing the organization of lab inventory databases.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or a related scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

Certifications/Licenses Preferred Qualifications

• Prior research experience, including mouse experimentation, PCR, Western blot and flow cytometry.

• Skills and prior experience in maintaining and organizing lab inventory and chemical databases

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Interested candidates with a strong background in molecular biology and laboratory techniques are encouraged to apply.
