The PPD bioanalytical labs team has a new opportunity for a Technical Training Coordinator to joi our BioA Lab Operations team!

This position is full time with benefits and will be based in our Richmond, Virginia labs campus.

The Training Coordinator trains the new employee in the basic laboratory systems and procedures in place, including proper analytical technique for various laboratory techniques. The Technical Trainer is expected to possess a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures and support LMS activity and training operations for the lab teams and trainers.

Location: Richmond, VA

Position: Full Time, with benefits

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, biology, chemistry or related field

  • With 1-2 years experience in a laboratory environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to update training systems and records such as SOP's and related documentation

  • Ability to support the LMS (learning management systems) domain and support updates and changes for LMS

  • Ability to support the creation, updating and editing of training documents, quiz banks, employee resumes/CV's and training files

  • Ability to multitask and support multiple programs and projects through strong communication skills and time management

  • Willing to learn new systems and processes quickly while working either independently or on a team

  • Strong people service skills and ability to support internal clients with service requests, troubleshooting and understanding of training systems and operations

  • Good verbal communication skills, including effective feedback skills

  • Cooperate with coworkers within an organized team environment or work alone with supervision

  • Familiar with FDA requirements, particularly documentation requirements

  • Knowledgeable in solution preparation and laboratory procedures

  • Familiar with analytical instrumentation, including analytical balances and pH meters

  • Familiar with the analytical data acquisition systems

  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Adobe PDF and LMS learning systems

  • Ability to review simple analytical data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Must be detail oriented and be able to perform multi tasks on a daily basis

Working Conditions: * Work is performed in a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. * Occasional drives to site locations, occasional domestic travel. * Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. * Rare exposure to skin and lung irritants, radiation, toxic materials and hazardous waste. * Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. * Exposure to fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures on rare occasions.
