Laboratory Technician

Piper Companies is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join an organization supporting infectious disease research located in Frederick, MD. The Laboratory Technician will aid in the execution of scientific studies of infectious agents.

Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician include:

• Perform conventional PCR and qRT-PCR

• Perform purification of nucleic acids from human blood, animal tissues, inactivated viral cultures

• Conduct quantitation and QC of DNA and RNA samples

• Execute studies by doing cell culture, qRT-PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and high-throughput sequencing

Qualifications for the Laboratory Technician include:

• 5+ years of experience working in a microbiology or molecular biology laboratory

• Previous experience with PCR, ddPCR, qRT-PCR, qPCR, NGS

• BSL-3 experience

• Legally authorized to work in the United States

• Bachelor of Science in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field

Compensation for the Laboratory Technician includes:

• Salary/Rate Range: $37 - $42.50 Per Hour depending on experience
