SGS EHS Houston is currently accepting applications for a Cleaning/Log-in Technician.


  • Pressurize canisters upon receipt of samples.

  • Log samples into the air lab packing program.

  • Screen canisters on screening GC.

  • Make dilutions for the analyst.

  • Pull canisters that need to be cleaned.

  • Make cleaning batches in the tracking program.

  • When certification is complete, tag canisters with appropriate labels.

  • Make cleaning batch for flow controllers.

  • Disassemble and clean flow controllers.

  • Make cleaning batch for soil trains.

  • Load oven with soil trains.

  • Assemble soil trains in sequence and pull certification canisters.

  • Pack air sampling equipment orders

  • Unpack and log canisters into both the SGS LIMS system and the Lab Tracker program.


  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Attention to detail is a must.

  • Lab experience is a plus.

Teamwork, flexibility, and a willingness to work overtime hours when workload requires.

Requires an individual who is highly organized and meticulous in technique and detail. Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, computer database aptitude and accurate data entry are a must.

VIEW JOBS 12/4/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-03-03T00:00 Job Summary: This position is focused on upstream cell culture process optimization for the growth of fibroblast in bioreactor platforms to produce Cell Conditioned Media (CCM). Maintenance of cell cultures, collection and sampling of CCM. Assist management in the coordination of activities, completion of inventory transactions and all relevant documentation compliant with cGMP and GDP guidelines. Actively involved in Technology Transfer Team, which includes technology transfer and scale up via written process transmittals and on-site support to the upstream manufacturing team. Support other cell culture activities, such as: assisting with the cleaning and sterilization of all components, containers, and associated equipment used in the production department. Key Duties and Responsibilities: 40% Responsible for the initiation and maintenance of human fibroblast cells grown in a bioreactor process inside a cleanroom environment including the coordination and completion of all relevant activities and documentation compliant with cGMP and GDP guidelines. 20% Design and execute studies to identify and determine appropriate ranges of (critical) process parameters for upstream development and technology transfer. 20% Monitor and troubleshoot bioreactor challenges to establish replicable cellular process parameters and perform data analysis to develop scalable, robust, high yielding, and economically viable cell culture processes for commercial production. 20% Record and analyze experimental data, verify data integrity and accuracy, and report/summarize findings to the project team, and draft technical documents and perform other technology transfer and scale up activities in collaboration with internal and external partners. This role requires extensive problem-solving as it relates to new technologies and new processing for cell cultures; requires hands-on expertise with bioreactors This role directly impacts the new technology application for the Houston site and is responsible for its successful transfer/launch and subsequent commercialization. The role will interface with external customers in R&D, GPT and others in Global Ops. The role will interface with manufacturing and quality staff at the site to ensure successful implementation of the new technology. Job qualifications (Minimum Requirements): Education and Experience: * Bachelors degree required preferably in a Natural Science, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field * A least 4 years hands-on experience with upstream process development (mammalian cell culture, bioreactors, bioreactor process development, and bioreactor data analysis), preferably Applikon technology * Strong understanding of biology, cell physiology and cell culture parameters in bioreactor and spinner vessel processes * Experience working in a GMP regulated environment preferred The Planet Group of Companies is an equal opportunity employer.
