Role Summary:
The laboratory technician will assist engineers in performing lab studies on rubber compounds. As a key member of the Seals and Materials Center of Excellence, the individual will generate data and deliver results that are a key part of developing new rubber compounds to the Subsea Drilling business.
Essential Responsibilities:
The qualified individual will perform laboratory procedures including:
Operation of laboratory equipment
Testing of rubber specimens
Entering and calculating results
Operation of instruments
Assisting in the development of new procedures and protocols
Troubleshooting issues with instruments and equipment
Qualifications/Requirements:
3+ years' experience in laboratory operations and testing
Associate degree from an accredited institution in technology or science, or prior experience specific to this role
Flexibility to work overtime during specific phases of projects
Conformance to all safety, health and environmental rules at all times
Desired Characteristics:
Prior experience in rubber mixing and testing
Attention to detail and ability to properly operate sensitive instruments
Ability to make accurate measurements and follow test procedures without errors
Good organizational skill and ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment
Exhibit integrity and transparency in work functions
Ability to take direction and raise questions as needed
Acceptable oral and written communication skills
