Laboratory Technician needed for a contract to hire opportunity with SOC's client to work in Norwell, MA

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Initiate and perform sample processing following written SOPs and project QAPPs
Conduct and document appropriate quality control and assurance procedures for monitoring and evaluating the quality of sample preparation procedures.
Enter data and observations into LIMS
THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED:
Associate's degree in chemistry or related field with at least 1 year of laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience in preparation of environmental samples for chemical analysis.
Familiarity with solid phase extraction (SPE) technique
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office tools
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in team environment
Excellent record keeping skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills required
Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Flexibility to work full-time or overtime as project needs require.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED:
Experience with extraction of PFAS drinking water EPA Method 537.1 and/or EPA Method 533
Experience with extraction of PFAS from non-potable water, solids, and tissues compliant with DoD QSM 5.3
Experience with DoD Quality Systems Manual (QSM) 5.3 Table B-15 requirements for PFAS extraction and analysis
Operate and/or monitor, and maintain standard laboratory equipment such as Geno/Grinder, Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) apparatus, ASE, HPLC, balances, GPC, centrifuges, etc.
Perform simple mathematical calculations and prepare data for supervisors or researchers, as requested.
Employment Pre-requisites
The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation, and drug urinalysis.
