Job Description

Position PURPOSE:

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for conducting quality analysis of calibration standards used in the Lighthouse headspace gas analyzer product line and for supporting measurement service projects for clients in the pharmaceutical industry.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct quality analysis of customer calibration standards fabricated by Lighthouse
  • Support customer Measurement Services Projects
    • Collect and analyze data using Lighthouse core technology of laser spectroscopy
    • Generate reports to present results to clients
  • Participate in experimental investigations for new application development
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and laboratory quality system
  • Support other functional department activities as assigned by management including:
    • Technical writing projects (application notes, white papers) in support of marketing
    • Instrument installation and validation in support of sales

  • Reports to Lab Manager
  • Interacts with Technical Support Specialist, Applications Engineer and Research Assistant

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Required: AS Physical or Life Sciences
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Laboratory experience or coursework

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $30,000-$50,000 DOE

The position carries out research studies and assists in experiments for the laboratory of Dr. Howard Goodkin, MD PhD. Responsibilities include working with small animals, laboratory procedures, assisting with collection and entry of data in electronic media and laboratory maintenance. Experience as a student may be considered. Experience in standard molecular biology procedures preferred. In addition, candidates must be able to perform routine laboratory data analysis and procedures; independently prepare solutions and reagents; perform or learn to work with animal models; resolve problems and work accurately and with attention to detail. Must have ability to analyze and organize work procedures; plan and execute tasks or experiments; and interpret and report findings. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
