Laboratory Technician I

Under direct supervision, may perform a variety of routine laboratory operations. Full training on operating small reactors or kilo lab equipment.

The individual should be comfortable around chemical compounds and able/willing to handle these according to standard operating procedures. Able to set up and turn off laboratory equipment safely. Good record keeping for processes may be needed.

This is an entry-level position but some experience and knowledge in the handling of chemicals or performing chemical reactions in laboratory settings are a plus. Ensures that safety procedures, required Client and housekeeping are maintained. Conducts work in a manner that protects themselves, co-workers, and the environment.

Follow established work procedures. Required to learn all operating systems and able to shut them down without supervision in the case of any emergency. Requirements High School graduate/equivalent or associate degree, with a demonstrated technical and/or mechanical aptitude.

Demonstrates advanced laboratory and critical-thinking skills.
