ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Register and log samples.

  • Complete determinations for all appropriate sample testing, and accurately record data.

  • Report instrument and safety issues to shift lead, supervisor, manager.

  • Operate in accordance with the department's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Work with appropriate customer representative to communicate the results of reportable and special samples.

  • Perform set-up, calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and laboratory equipment.

  • Advise on low material stock levels.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

  • Attend and apply technical training classes to enhance technical skills on a regular basis.

  • Maintain performance measures in accordance with the department's goals.

  • Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Enable Cashman to achieve its objective of Safely Home. Everyone. Every Day. by promoting a positive safety culture and adhering to all company safety policies, procedures and practices.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advise on low material stock levels.

  • Attend and apply technical training classes to enhance technical skills on a regular basis.

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and safety regulations. Use all safety equipment necessary. Report any unsafe acts or conditions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or trade school or equivalent.

  • Ability to read and understand materials commonly used in the job function.

  • Strong analytical and math skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient English, grammar, spelling, punctuation and math skills.

Performs carpentry duties necessary to construct or maintain structural woodwork and equipment. Maintains electrical equipment such as wiring, motors, switches and electrical mechanisms in good repair. Maintains, adjust, installs and repairs a wide variety of simple to complex machinery, machine tools, engines, production machines, and mechanized equipment. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (List job duties and responsibilities which are critical to the successful performance of the job.) 1. Operates woodworking machinery, and uses a variety of hand and power tools. 2. Selects material to meet appearance and specified load requirements. 3. Does work requiring close fittings, and fine finishes. 4. Works from blueprints, and rough sketches. 5. Diagnoses and remedies simple to complex electrical trouble, makes new installations of fixtures, motors, and other electrical equipment as required. 6. Works from wiring diagrams and drawings. 7. Diagnoses, overhauls and rebuilds machines and equipment. 8. Uses a variety of machines and hand tools in scraping, fabricating, cutting, fitting, adjusting, and checking parts for repair or replacement. 9. Works with the boiler, and HAVC equipment. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: Skill in performing complex duties in a specific craft such as Machine mechanic , Electric maintenance, or electronic maintenance. Skill fabricating parts, mechanical assemblies. Experience using engine lathes, milling machines, drill presses, turret lathes, and grinders. Skill in using measuring tools such as, micrometers, verniers, and scales. Skill reading blueprints, sketches, and other specifications including verbal from engineers. Work posture requirements include but are not limited to; bending from the waist, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing, twisting reaching, balancing, and throwing. Dexterity requirements include; picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and foot pedals. EDUCATION: Graduation from a trade school or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE(YEARS/TYPE): At least two years fabrication experience, low voltage electronic experience. One to five years maintaining/repairing/installing/wiring, motors, and switches. One to five years maintaining/installing/ repairing conveyor systems. Boiler operation experience a plus.
