CAMRIS is seeking a Laboratory Technician 6 to support the mission of the Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and Microbiology (LCIM) at The National Institutes of Health (NIH) by conducting and supporting basic, translational and clinical research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.

Maintain accurate daily records of experiments and results.
Write reports of findings, stating methods and procedures, including any modifications employed specimens and materials involved, and results of experiments.
Quality control of the laboratory including upkeep and routine maintenance of equipment.
Performs laboratory techniques relating to scientific research.
Prepares specimens and equipment for use.
Perform general lab management, and responsible for laboratory upkeep and routine maintenance of equipment, maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment including chemicals, biological materials, biological wastes, etc.
Catalog and label laboratory samples.
Help with maintaining and organizing inventory of samples and metadata, and with managing inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
Maintain detailed laboratory records of experiments and their results.
Operate and communicate effectively in a group, team-oriented working environment.
Work with and support others in a collegial, open, respectful, and interactive working manner. Work collaboratively with others in the lab to generate data for publications.
Master's degree in Biology, Life Sciences or a related discipline.
Two (2) years of specialized experience plus a BA/BS degree is equivalent to a Master's degree.
Experience with a varity of laboratory procedures and techniques.
Experience with the use of congenic, transgenic, and knockout mice; analyses of lymphoma cell lines; DNA and tissue microarrays; and molecular and cell biology.
Experience with laboratory instruments used to perform tests, analyses, and other laboratory procedures.
Perform the above duties and assist the senior staff with assigned duties.
