Laboratory Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology or a related field; advanced degree preferred; five years of professional experience in conducting water or wastewater analysis, including two years of experience in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Current valid driver's license and good driving record required.

Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing

Duties

Supervise & maintain a "State Certified Drinking Water Laboratory" analyzing bacteriological and chemical parameters in Chesterfield County potable water supply samples to assure compliance with all State & Federal regulations. Responsible for all customer water quality complaints/inquiries related to public water supply.

Monitoring of distribution system water quality. Perform other work as required.
