Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Laboratory Researcher III for the Pharmacy Chemical Biology department.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides an exciting opportunity to join Dr. Matthew McBride's laboratory as a Laboratory Researcher III.
Participates in cell biology, biochemistry, epigenetics, and quantitative metabolism research, as well as animal studies to investigate the role of amino acid metabolism in tumor growth and treatment resistance.
Performs experiments under Dr. McBride's direct supervision as well as maintaining the necessary daily laboratory activities, reagents, and supplies.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Chemistry or a related field.
At least two years of related experience in one of these fields, as well as the ability to work with small animals.
Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have a sound understanding of applications of the theoretical discipline and a greater depth of knowledge of the discipline, usually thorough on-the-job training.
Must be computer literate with knowledge of reporting tools.
Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
Previous research experience in metabolism, epigenetics, analytical chemistry or cell metabolism.
Experience with basic molecular biology and cell culture techniques (cell line propagation, cell line engineering, drug treatment studies), LC-MS metabolomics or stable isotope tracing is an advantage.
Prior experience working with mouse models is highly desirable.
Good computer skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, GraphPad Prism, and PowerPoint. Experience processing and analyzing large datasets is preferred.
Ability to work with little direct oversight.
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
