Laboratory Maintenance Technician

Piper Health and Sciences is seeking a motivated Laboratory Maintenance Technician to provide support services to a well-established biotechnology company in the Germantown, MD area. The Maintenance Technician will be the consultant responsible for day-to-day maintenance activities for laboratory equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities of the Laboratory Maintenance Technician include:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of manufacturing process equipment and laboratory instruments.

• Oversee routine installation, assembly, and preventative maintenance activities for bioreactors, shakers, centrifuges, mixers, biosafety hoods, stability chambers, sterilizers, autoclaves, glass washers, clean steam systems, freezers, and pumps.

• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving equipment-related issues and ensure compliance with cGMP/GxP requirements

• Conduct routine inspections and calibration of equipment to meet regulatory and quality standards.

• Develop and update documentation related to equipment maintenance, repairs, and validation processes.

• Provide training and guidance to junior technicians in equipment-related tasks.

Qualifications of the Laboratory Maintenance Technician:

• 3-4+ years of experience working in equipment maintenance (biotech, med device or pharmaceutical industry exp. is required)

• Knowledge in troubleshooting PLC systems, electrical, instrumentation and mechanical systems

• Experience using CMMS software & Blue Mountain systems

• Associate's degree or vocational training in related field is preferred

Compensation of the Senior Equipment Maintenance Consultant:

• Salary: approximately $40.00 - $50.00 hourly, dependent on experience
