Job Description

We are currently looking for a Laboratory Director.



Job Requirements:

*Bachelors in Chemistry, Microbiology, Medical Technology, Biology or other related science.

*At least 3 years of laboratory experience. With a focus in Hematology, Toxicology and Chemistry.

*Experience in CLIA certification and the accreditation process.



Job Description:

*Develop and recommend policies and procedures needed to meet the goals of the laboratory services in quality, cost effectiveness and time efficiency.

*Ensure standards and procedures for tests are meet within the state and federal regulatory guidelines.

*Must be able to operate, train staff and calibrate a Mass Spectrometer Quadrupole. Also must be able to deal with Ghost Peak or cross talk and calibrate around it to insure the correct analyte is being processed. Our labs focus is in toxicology.

*Oversee facility operational processes, procedures, accounts, staffing and other applicable efficiencies. Develop and implement improvements when necessary.

*Must be able to perform waived, moderate and highly complex laboratory tests, and also maintain knowledge of any new testing procedures and technologies.

*A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Job Summary: Responsible for providing work direction and assign operational job functions to Special Operations group. Provide operational guidance, technical support and resolve issues. Assist designated supervisor with training of staff to ensure appropriate job skills and knowledge are acquired. Provide good customer service and remain responsive to all business partners. Determine if additional research, review or analysis is required to provide recommendations within assigned authority, escalating complex issues to supervisor/management as appropriate. Major Responsibilities: * Provide work direction to staff. * Monitor and distribute work. * Monitor and follow-up on daily errors and corrections to ensure the unit does not sustain unnecessary losses. * Escalate complex issues to designated supervisor or manager. * Support the Bank's policy, procedures and regulatory requirements * Assist as needed with telephone coverage and provide good customer service skills. * Monitor and act on departmental e-mails. * Provide coverage in the event of unplanned absences. * Review, callback and approve daily work for staff to minimize operational risk exposure and possible loss to the Bank. * Assist supervisor with process improvement and efficiencies. * Assist with the monitoring of staff breaks and lunches to ensure proper coverage of processes and ensure attendance standards are met. * Cross-train staff on all assigned unit functions. * Assist supervisor in maintaining daily service levels, production standards and meeting established monthly statistical deadlines. * Assist supervisor in resolving business partner and/or client complaints. * Assist supervisor in developing staff skills for future career opportunities * Assist supervisor in preparing and conducting monthly staff meetings. Qualifications: Additional Information: * Position requires two to three years of branch experience, centralized work environment, customer service and/or comparable experience to gain knowledge and skills for the job. * Proven ability to provide work direction and technical guidance to others. * High school diploma or G.E.D required. * Must have good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and have good analytical and problem solving skills. * Good experience utilizing Bank applications, Rumba, RCIF and OASIS.
