DuPont currently has an opening for a Labor Relations Manager to join the US Human Resources team. This is an exciting, fast-paced position that is responsible for providing leadership in the labor relations area to business leaders, HR Consultants and other key stakeholders. The position is responsible for working with the business to establish a labor strategy, interpret contracts and resolve labor related matters across a portfolio of sites. The position will require a person of vision, integrity and commitment as well as maturity and judgment. The position requires a person who can translate the business strategy into clear people objectives, policies and/or practices to promote the growth and development needed for maximum utilization of human resources, so that the business and employee needs are reconciled.

Key focus areas include:

  • Bargaining Consultation

  • Union Avoidance and CBA training

  • Support for Information Requests, ULPS, Grievances and Arbitrations

  • Coaching and Development of Site Bargainers

  • Strike Contingency planning support

  • Corporate Initiatives Planning and Execution of any Labor Requirements


  • Provide strategic and operational guidance on labor matters, industrial/labor/employee relations

  • Analyze, coordinate and apply industrial labor relations programs, policies and procedures

  • Determine and analyze industrial/labor relations needs of organizations

  • Work with business leaders to establish short and long-term industrial/labor relations strategies

  • Formulate and manage plans, procedures and programs to meet specific industrial/labor relations objectives and resolve problems

  • Deliver industrial/labor relations strategy training to the organization

  • Partner with HR leaders and legal resources to meet objectives while managing industrial/labor relations issues.

  • Provide full and proactive support to site

  • Consult with HR and Legal on strategic and tactical labor relations issues

  • Actively coach and counsel HR Consultants and Manufacturing Leaders to resolve labor relations/employee relations issues

  • Coach managers on change-management practices and resource application of those changes

  • Improve functioning capability of HR professionals and line management in the field of industrial relations

  • Provide employee relations/labor relations training

  • Provide bargaining planning, strategy, and support

  • Provide union campaign planning, strategy, and support

  • Collaboratively develop employee relations/labor relations plans

  • Conduct site employee relations/labor relations assessments


  • BA/BS Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, other BA/BS degrees considered.

  • 3-5 years of experience leading a labor relations strategy for a large plant site and/or across several sites

  • Strong leadership capabilities

  • Ability to influence business leaders and key stakeholders

  • Ability to build strong relationships

  • Strong Project Management skills and the ability to manage/balance a large workload

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
