Overview: The Labor Relations Manager will oversee the management, administration and coordination of all aspects of labor relations related to collective bargaining unit employees to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and federal and state employment regulations, while providing consultation, training and constructive conflict resolution for and between company leadership, union leadership and bargaining unit employees. The Labor Relations Manager will proactively engage operations leadership to build capability, support a positive and cohesive working culture, and implement practical business solutions.

The Manager is responsible for representing the Independent Small and MediumChain Managed Care membership to the managed care/third partycommunity. The primary purpose of the role is to manage the overallrelationship with an assigned group of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM)companies, including but not limited to leading the effort to reach agreementon all of the terms and conditions in the Pharmacy Provider Agreements (baseagreements and addenda) on behalf of all Independent Small and MediumChain's Managed Care membership and improving the terms and conditions andthe value derived from those agreements. Key Responsibilities: * Third party contractrepresentation, review and management, especially in light of the industrychanges regarding narrow networks and performance networks * Manage the developmentand maintenance of the profitability reporting * Support service team,sales team, and marketing team * PBM relationshipdevelopment and maintenance * Contract AdministrativeDuties: Preparing contracts for signature, returning signed contracts to theapplicable PBM/Plan, tracking contracts on a contract tracking spreadsheet(called the pipeline), entering contract details into a contract database,following up on executed contract copies, and other administrative duties aswell * Further, this positionwill be responsible for managing and overseeing the contract database, ensuringit is up-to-date and extremely accurate; developing improvements; measuringamong other items prescription profitability, profitability by PBM, and otheranalyses as needed by the Independent Small and MediumChain customers. Additionally, thisperson will provide direct contracting support to the Senior Director of PBMRelations, most notably, gathering pertinent information from the PBMs, Plans,and other managed care entities regarding contracting opportunities. Theservice this person provides on behalf of the Independent Small and MediumChain Managed Care membership is akin to collective bargaining. Thisperson's professional success will directly impact the business prosperity ofthe Independent Small and Medium Chain Managed Care membership. This position willrequire new program development based on both qualitative and quantitativeanalysis of output. This person will be responsible to report customerresults. This position will identify and implement new and regularopportunities for program improvements. This position will have directimpact to customer profitability. Position will assist inthe establishment of operational objectives and assignments. Objectivesare reviewed by senior management to determine success of operation. Involved in developing, modifying, and executing company policies which affectimmediate operation(s) and may also have company-wide effect. Erroneousdecisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operationsand may jeopardize overall business activities. * Contract administrationduties are included in this role. Duties include preparing contracts forsignature, returning the contracts to the applicable PBM/Plan, trackingcontracts on a contract tracking spreadsheet (called the pipeline), enteringcontract details into a contract database, following up on executed contractcopies, and other administrative duties as well. * Regularly interacts withsenior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functionalareas, divisions, and/or customers. Requires the ability to change thethinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations. Position Description/General/Job Family Information Responsible for the preparation, negotiation, acceptance and management ofcommercial contracts and subcontracts, including licensing agreements. Reviewsand approves all contractual documents for protection of the company'scontractual posture, satisfaction of customer specifications and adherence tocompany policy. Advises management of contractual rights and obligations andprovides interpretation of terms and conditions. Minimum Requirements * 2 years contract administration experience Critical Skills * Contracts administration and management experience, to include reviewing, redlining, negotiation, implementation, with the ability to analyze a managed care/third party contract to determine quantitative and intrinsic values, as they pertain to the business needs of the membership. * 2 years' experience working directly with or for a PBM, Plan, or other managed care entity on third party contracting. * In-depth knowledge of managed care pharmacy, from either the retail pharmacy or PBM/Plan perspective * Strong ability to develop and maintain lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with contacts at PBMs, Plans, and other managed care entities. * Must have computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft programs including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word, the internet, and Adobe Acrobat Professional, and others as needed Preferred Skills/Knowledge * Some experience withreading/drafting contracts (ideally healthcare) * Pharmacy operations(claims adjudication) experience / knowledge * Experience with PSAOs(Pharmacy Services Administrative Organization) * Ability to combinebroad, "big picture" business perspective, as well as tactical, "in thetrenches" experience. * Manage complexityeffectively and show an ability to integrate diverse and comprehensivecapabilities, build appropriate linkages, and leverage technology, services,and people across boundaries. * Show good judgment notonly in business decisions, but also in managing his/her own career bymaintaining a long-term perspective and balance between personal goals andorganizational realities. * Maintain knowledge ofpharmaceutical industry products, trends, and processes. * Provide rapid problemresolution and streamline process. * Provide input to, andcoordinate with, divisional product and support organizations on product,services and integration requirements.
