Labor Inspector 1 - Commerce - Labor - Statewide

• Performs beginning level home inspections to enforce the West Virginia and United States Department of Housing and Urban Development Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards Acts.

• Performs contractor license, HVAC technician certification and plumber certification inspections.

• Completes appropriate and accurate reports.

• Interprets and applies statutes and rules within the jurisdiction of the WV Division of Labor appropriately to resolve problems and ensure compliance.

• Works closely with other government agencies and municipalities regarding the programs enforced by the Board of Manufactured Housing Construction & Safety and the WV Division of Labor.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Hands-on training provided.

• State vehicle and equipment provided.

Training:  Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent.

Training for the area of Metrology:  Graduation from a standard four-year high school.

Experience:  Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience.

Substitution: An Associate degree from an regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience.

Special Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license.
